British Virgin Islands Flotilla2010 Caribbean Sailing FUN
June 12 - 19, 2010
$1350.00 per person – This assumes two people per cabin.
Students who qualify will be awarded an ASA 103 Certification. For ASA 104 Bareboat Certification add $250.00 and you must be signed up before the cruise. ASA 101 Certification or equivalent is a prerequisite. Jim Antonacci will be the instructor for the ASA classes taught on-board the boat.
The boat will be a Moorings 433 (3 cabins with in-suite heads) or a Moorings 51.5 (4 cabins with in-suite heads) depending on demand. The flotilla pricing and availability is based on getting enough participation to make the trip viable. We will use the 3 cabin boat if we have at least 4 participants and the 4 cabin boat for up to 8 students. The boat we plan to use will be selected and trip confirmed by May 7, 2010. Final payment is required by May 15.
You should plan your travel schedule around boarding the boat on the evening of June 12th. The boat will be in the Moorings Marina on Saturday night and leave first thing the next morning. We will sleep aboard the boat for seven nights staring Saturday June 12th through and including Friday night June 18th. We will return the boat the morning of June 19th at 11:00 am. If everyone schedules departing flights for late in the afternoon of June 19th we will be able to spend Friday at an anchorage close to the marina and return in the morning prior to check- in. If anyone needs to books flights out prior to 2pm, we will need to be back in the marina Friday night to allow enough time for those departing earlier Saturday to get to the airport at least 2 hours prior to their departure time.
We will plan to have most breakfasts and lunches on board the boat. The crew will provision the boat at a local market for these meals, any snacks the crew desires, water and other beverages the crew wants. The cost of lunches, breakfasts, drinks and snacks are shared equally between the crew. One crew member will be elected treasurer to keep track of the costs of provisioning at the start of the trip as well as anything the boat spends money on such as ice, mooring fees, trash disposal or additional supplies acquired during the week.
Dinner will be taken on shore. Each crew member will pay for their dinner. There are beach restaurants at each stop on the trip, all with their own local flavor and reason for being. The restaurants take cash or major credit cards.

This is a great opportunity to gain confidence in that which you know, learn new skills and confirm those skills that you were not so sure about. Best of all, you will come to understand that sailing a larger boat is much easier than you may think!
